At The Child’s Dignity, we believe that transforming communities begins with equipping people. Our Student Internship and Volunteer Program is one of the ways we open our doors to the next generation of compassionate leaders.
Each year, we host students from both local and international universities, as well as volunteers from within Kenya and across the globe. These placements are more than academic requirements, they are immersive learning journeys grounded in real community impact.
Interns gain hands-on experience in Trauma-Informed Care, working alongside our team to support children, caregivers, and schools. They participate in training sessions, contribute to field activities, and engage in our ongoing research initiatives, turning theory into meaningful practice.
For our international students and volunteers, the program also offers a unique opportunity to experience and interact with local communities, understand contextual challenges, and learn from the resilience and strength within them. It is a space of mutual exchange, where learning flows both ways.
Through this program, we are not only building professional capacity; we are nurturing empathy, cultural understanding, and a shared commitment to restoring the dignity of every child.
